The Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) is the nation's oldest and largest standards-setting and accrediting body in health care. It is an independent, not-for-profit organization founded in 1951 to improve the safety and quality of health care provided to the public. JCAHO evaluates and accredits more than 15,000 health care organizations and programs in the United States, including more than 7,800 hospitals and home care organizations, and more than 7,300 organizations that provide long-term care, assisted living services, behavioral health care, laboratory services, and ambulatory care services. JCAHO also accredits health plans, integrated delivery networks, and other managed care entities, as well as disease-specific care programs, primary stroke centers, and health care staffing services. All of Sea Mar’s medical, dental, behavioral health, and home care programs are accredited by JCAHO.

The National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC) is a national trade association serving and representing the interests of America’s community, migrant, and homeless health centers, including Sea Mar. Its mission is to promote accessible, coordinated, culturally and linguistically competent, and community-directed health care for all underserved populations. NACHC’s member health centers serve over 15 million people in over 3,600 urban and rural communities in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and all territories. They bring doctors and other basic health services and facilities into the nation’s neediest and most isolated communities, providing primary medical care to working poor and uninsured people, as well as high-risk and particularly vulnerable populations.


Community Health Network of Washington (CHNW) & Community Health Plan of Washington (CHPW)

Community Health Plan of Washington (CHPW) is the fifth-largest health program in Washington. It was established in 1992 by the Community Health Network of Washington (CHNW), a network of community health centers across Washington State, including Sea Mar. CHPW members receive services from more than 1,000 primary care providers and 8,000 specialists at more than 250 primary care sites and 80 hospitals in 33 counties. CHPW’s mission is to deliver accessible managed care services that meet the needs and improve the health of Washington’s communities, and to make managed care participation beneficial for community-responsive providers.

Washington Association of Community and Migrant Health Centers (WACMHC)

The Washington Association of Community and Migrant Health Centers (WACMHC) is a non-profit organization, formed in 1985, to advocate on behalf of Washington's community, migrant, rural, and homeless health centers, including Sea Mar. These health centers serve low-income and other persons with limited access to health care, at more than sixty medical clinics in all parts of the state. WACMHC's mission is to promote health and human services for the underserved people of Washington State, and to help ensure that all Washingtonians have access to primary health care, regardless of geographic location, nationality, or income level.
