​ Carlos has been working for Sea Mar Behavioral Health in Puyallup since July, 2015. As a counselor, Carlos provides diagnostic assessments, referrals for psychiatric services, and case management in coordination with other teams or parties involved in treatment. Carlos provides individual counseling, crisis stabilization, suicide risk assessment and treatment plans, and leads groups.

Carlos entered the field in order to share with others the life-changing power of being in therapy, learning about oneself, and making decisions to change one's way of interacting with the world. Carlos wants to share what he has learned with you and considers it a joy to do so. Carlos also considers it a privilege and honor to be a part of the change process for others. Carlos therapeutic approach is based on a relationship building model steeped in motivational enhancement and cognitive behavioral therapies. His style can be described as engaging, creative and solutions focused.

Carlos has worked as a social worker and mental health counselor for over 9 years. Carlos received his bachelor's degree from Biola University and completed his master's degree with Azusa Pacific University. He currently holds a Washington State license for Social Worker Clinical License​. ​
