​ ​ ​ Crystelle Hower recently joined the SeaMar team in the Child and Family Therapy program at the Bellingham Behavioral Health location. Crystelle received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Washington State University. She then went on to complete her Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling at Western Washington University. Since then, she has gained a variety of experiences working with all ages and a variety of mental health concerns.

Crystelle believes in focusing on each person as an individual, no matter their background. She feels that each person is the only true expert on themselves and the counseling journey should be about guiding an individual towards their own path. Partnered with a focus on strengths and pointing out progress every step of the way, Crystelle helps her clients figure out what their personal journey will be.

Crystelle also believes in helping individuals become more resilient. This includes building a social support system, identifying strengths, and also restructuring negative thought patterns so that when there is a life stressor, the individual can emotionally persevere. Having attended Graduate School here in Bellingham, Crystelle couldn't resist returning after a few years away. The outdoor activities and lifestyle the area offers was too wonderful to pass up. When it isn't too cold, she looks forward to disk golfing and walks at the many parks in the area. Otherwise, she is enjoying her time reading, watching TV, and relaxing.
