Elizabeth Kayla Withey was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, and moved to Washington State in 2000. She graduated from Western Washington University in 2004 with a major in sociology and minor in psychology.

Kayla began working for Sea Mar as a chemical dependency professional therapist in May 2009. She has completed her supervised hours and is applying for her CDP certification.

Kayla has worked with high-risk youth in schools, creating a weekly group to help clients with psycho-education and insight about their struggles with substance abuse. Kayla has also worked with behaviorally challenged/mentally disabled youth in Seattle in a residential setting. Her theoretical perspective is one that encompasses a holistic approach to healing. Kayla is married, the mother of two daughters and enjoys her time outdoors, gardening, hiking, and at the beach.
