​ ​​Marykathleen (Marykate or Mk) Tihinen is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate as well as a Chemical Dependency Professional Trainee. She received her Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Seattle Pacific University, her Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology from Bastyr University, and received her Graduate Certificate in Addiction Studies from Eastern Washington University. She worked for Ryther, a sub-acute inpatient care facility in Seattle, as well as the Bastyr Clinic for Natural Health, Youth Eastside Services, and Cadence Child and Adolescent Therapy.

Marykate has been working in the mental health field since 2014 and uses a strength-based collaborative approach, humor, and creativity to help people create a better quality of life. Marykate has training is Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) approaches, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Motivational Interviewing.

Marykate enjoys spending time outside in her free time, hiking, fishing, gardening, or walking her dogs.
