Sheryl joined the Sea Mar Community Health Center Team in March, 2016. She has experience working in various Mental Health and Substance Abuse Treatment settings including; psychiatric hospital, day treatment, residential, in-patient and out-patient. Prior to starting with Sea Mar, Sheryl worked at Vision House with homeless individuals and their families, whose histories often included significant trauma, poverty, DV (domestic violence) and substance abuse.

Sheryl received her Bachelor's degree in Psychology at Western Washington University and her Master's degree in Social Work at San Diego State University.

Sheryl is a licensed clinician (LICSW) whose priority is to engage and accept each person where they are, while empowering them to move toward healthy change. She enjoys being a part of each person's journey and utilizes an Eclectic, Person-Centered approach with emphasis on Solution Focused and Cognitive Behavioral Therapies (CBT), Motivational-Interviewing, Trauma Informed Care, Reality Therapy and an integration of Family Systems models.

When not working, Sheryl enjoys spending time with her husband of 25 years, and three teen-age daughters. In the summer you will find them boating and waterskiing. She also enjoys movies, and travel whenever possible.
