About the Job

 

Two (2) Full-time position available in the Cannon House turning point residential program in Seattle. The Group Life Counselor III is a position that is part of the multi-disciplinary treatment team providing direct services to patients in a residential setting. Direct services may include a combination or all of the following: group care, intake procedures, evaluation, individual and group counseling, milieu management, evaluation, and supervision of patients. These patients have a primary diagnosis of chemical dependency and may also have mental health problems. The CDP will be working in a recovery setting with adults who are recovering from chemical dependency. The CDPT is a person who is in training to become a Chemical Dependency Professional. She/he will learn all of the duties and responsibilities of a CDP. Applicant will be responsible for organizing and providing direct counseling services to patients. Specifically counselor is the agent for providing services to patients in individual or group sessions. The CDP also performs assessments and intakes. These services are provided to adults and their families.

 

 
Required Qualifications

 

GLC III Qualifications: Has completed or are close to completing a B.A. degree in Psychology, Sociology, Human Services, or related field. Associates degree in Chemical Dependency and at least two years’ experience in working with at-risk population.

 

CDP Qualifications: Applicants must not have a history of alcohol or drug misuse for a period of two years prior to the time of employment. CDP must have an AA degree as well as a Washington State CDP License or Washington State Department of Health CDPT certification required. Licensed or license eligible.

 

Prior experience working with adult chemical dependency issues is preferred.

 

Computer skills are a plus. Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred but not required.
