About the Job

 

Full-time position available for the Behavioral Health Department in the Turning Point Treatment Center working with adults suffering from chemical dependency. The CDP III is responsible for organizing and providing direct counseling services to patients. The counselor is the agent for providing services to patients whether on a one-to-one or group basis, performs assessment, evaluation, and intakes. Services are given to adults, youth and their families. These clients have a primary diagnosis of chemical dependency and may also have emerging mental health problems. Applicants are expected to subscribe to the disease concept of chemical dependency with the belief that total abstinence is required for ongoing recovery from alcoholism and other drug addictions. He/she should have demonstrated rapport, empathy for, and ability to communicate with recovery patients.

 

 
Required Qualifications

Must possess the required college certificate that qualifies them to be a CDP. Must have a Chemical Dependency Professional license from the Department of Health. Recent experience required. Bilingual Russian/Spanish is preferred but not required. Computer skills are a plus and experience working with adolescents and in the field is a must.
