About the Job

 

 

 

 

This successful candidate provides day to day revenue cycle operations for Medical and Behavioral Health with special emphasis to assure that all information provided is accurate and timely across all divisions and locations. This may include co‐pay collection, self-pay collection, systems set up and other challenges. Sea Mar is a Federally Qualified Health Center that provides many services including Medical, Dental, Mental Health and Substance Use Disorder.

 

  • Develop, implement, and monitor policies and procedures that ensure effective revenue cycle management.

  • Manages the monthly reconciliation process to ensure that all procedures/operative cases are billed in a timely manner. Analyzes month end reports, identifying opportunities for work process improvements with respect to claims denials in Medical, Dental and Behavioral Health. Works with Medical, Dental and Behavioral Health regional managers on strategies to improve front end related issues.  Create Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and reporting by clinic. 

  • Coordinates and facilitates compliance audits for the department. Directs internal compliance reviews conducted by the department coders. Provides feedback and education to providers on coding errors for both procedure and E&M services in Medical, Dental and Behavioral Health. Verifies that fee schedules are appropriate against insurance payers' allowable fees. Ensure that fee schedules are updated at a minimum annually. 

  • Analyzes monthly Appeals reports, tracking work effort to ensure collections activity on a regular basis. Analyzes weekly charges and payments data to ensure meeting established targets for productivity. Reviews EOBs as needed to determine/address payer problems. Coordinates efforts regarding authorization issues.

  • Working knowledge of CPT, ICD-9 codes. Experience working with Medicare, Medicaid, Washington State DSHS, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Labor & Industry, and commercial carriers.

  • Familiarity and working experience Coordination of Benefits (COB), Denials, and Billing rejections.

  • Experience working with HCFA and UB-92s. Ensure compliance with Federal and State regulations concerning medical billing.

 

 

 

 
Required Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field

  • minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in revenue cycle environment

  • 1-3 years of supervisory experience preferred.

  • Coding (CPC) and HIM certifications (CPHIMS) are assets.

  • English/Spanish is helpful but not required.

  • Experience in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) billing environment beneficial.
