Notes:
- This facility is Level II Secure, which means that staff provide vigilant supervision twenty-four hours a day.
- The Visions facility treats only females.
- The building is set up to discourage and/or not allow clients to leave without supervision.
- The clients come from all counties in Washington State.
- They normally have a probation officer who is using the legal system to ensure their clients stay in treatment.
- Many clients are title 19 and spend 3-8 months in treatment.
- Clients receive 20 hours a week of chemical dependency education in the form of lectures, discussion groups, written assignments and individual therapy.
- The clinic co-occurs with an outpatient mental health clinic so clients receive mental health services. This can include therapy and/or medication management.
- Clients are provided school each day and receive credits for high school diploma.
- Clients participate in daily recreation, life skills groups and off-site outings.
- There is a focus on clients spending time in the community being subjected to situations that trigger their desire for drugs. Examples are working in the soup kitchen downtown each week and attending public AA meetings.
