Dr. Ione Adams joined Sea Mar as a family practice physician and clinical director in April 1989. As clinical director, Dr. Adams is responsible for coordinating and assuring quality care for the medical activities at the clinic.
Dr. Adams graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1986 and completed her residency in 1989 with Tacoma Family Medicine. She has more than 20 years experience with Sea Mar Community Health Centers.
Dr. Adam's philosophy of care is to work with her patients to assist them in obtaining optimal health. She has been active in leadership positions in Whatcom County, serving as chair of the Family Medicine Department, St. Joseph Hospital; board member, Migrant Clinicians Network; and president, Whatcom County Medical Society.
Dr. Adams lives in Bellingham with her husband and daughter. She enjoys music, reading, gardening, boating, hiking and traveling.
