Alexandra Cooper joined Vancouver Behavioral Health Centers clinical team in April 2009. Before coming to Sea Mar, Alexandra graduated from the School of Community Counseling at Lewis and Clark College in 2008 where she earned a Masters degree in counseling psychology, addiction studies.

 

She has a variety of experiences in community mental health settings in Portland, Oregon.  She assists clients with substance abuse, trauma, depression, anxiety, cross-cultural issues, life transitions, grief and spirituality.

 

Alexandra firmly believes in the strength of her clients to overcome adversity, suffering, and loss. She believes that it is her role is to help clients discover their strengths and to develop effective, practical skills that will enable them to cope with the difficulties that they encounter.

 

Alexandras approach is cognitive behavioral. She uses this therapeutic approach to enable her clients to explore and test a variety of problem solving skills.  Alexandras goal is to empower her clients to envision a healthy, productive way of life, and then to help lead them there.
