What is South Park Youth Soccer Program?
The South Park Youth Soccer Program provides the children of the South Park neighborhood in Seattle an opportunity to participate on a soccer team while having fun and engaging in physical activity.
Originally the product of a partnership between Sea Mar Community Health Centers and the South Park Community Center as an initiative to reduce childhood obesity, the program has since expanded and is currently a member of the West Seattle Soccer League. South Park’s youth now have the opportunity to play against other teams while the program remains an accessible soccer club within the South Park community.
The Youth Soccer Program has two seasons, one in the fall and the other in the spring. Children ages 5 to 12 years of age are welcome to participate, and older players can be placed with a scholarship on a West Seattle team.
