• You can create an account and fill out an application online at www.americorps.gov 

• Using the search function on the AmeriCorps website, find us under the health interest area for Washington (WA) state. We have several listings under Sea Mar Community HealthCorps.
  • You may apply to work at a specific site or for specific positions listed if interested in those options. Otherwise, choose the general listing and apply.

• If you have access to the internet, you can download a PDF version of the application (a PDF reader such as Adobe Acrobat Reader is required), and send your completed application via regular mail  (see address below) with your original signature.

2. Supplemental Questions

• In addition to the AmeriCorps application, all Sea Mar HealthCorps applicants should download and submit the supplemental questions by email to americoordinator@seamarchc.org or by regular mail at:

3. Application Timeline for HealthCorps

• Applications are accepted on a rolling basis until positions are filled.
• Interviews take place in April until all positions are filled.

TERM OF SERVICE
Sea Mar Community Health Centers term of service starts in early September and runs through early August of the following year.

Sea Mar offers full-time HealthCorps contracts which require completion of 1,700 hours of service within 11 months.  Please note: We do not have any part-time positions for the 2010-2011 program year.

• Members’ stipend is approximately $11,800 or about $850-900 (net) every month. 
• Members receive an education award of $5350 upon completion of his/her contract.

PAPERWORK: Tips and Tools
Newly accepted members of our program need several documents on the first day of orientation in September. The following documents are required in order to start service in our program:

• driver’s license or state-issued ID card;
• social security card;
• one of the following:
  • copy of birth certificate,
  • unexpired US passport,
  • certificate of citizenship (INS Form N-560), or
  • Certificate of Naturalization (INS Form N-550);
• proof of health insurance coverage if you will not be using the Americorps insurance.

If applying for child care benefits (note that only low-income households and children under 13 are eligible), please bring:

• household paycheck stubs or other proof of income for the last 30 days;
• spouse’s and children’s social security numbers and dates of birth;
• copy of children’s birth certificates.
