Karla K. Silva has been with Sea Mar since relocating in November 2009 from her home, the islands of Hawai’i. Karla currently is working towards earning credentials as a national board-certified counselor.

Prior to re-locating to the mainland, Karla worked with O’ahu’s Adult Mental Health Court, counseling those that are dual diagnosed and legally encumbered. Karla also gained valuable experience as an elementary educator, working predominantly in rural, low-income areas, which inspired her move into the field of mental health.

Throughout her career Karla has been motivated to help those that are in need, and strives to empower those that find themselves feeling powerless. Karla’s experience has been with elementary and middle school children and their families, including adults. She most recently began working in geriatrics at Sea Mar’s assisted-living facility, Cannon House, located in Seattle’s Central Area.
