- You can create an account and fill out an application on-line at www.americorps.gov
- Using the search function on the AmeriCorps website, you can find us under the health interest area for Washington (WA) state. We are listed as Sea Mar Community HealthCorps.
- If you do not have regular access to the internet, you can also download a PDF version of the application and a PDF version of the references form, (a PDF reader such as Adobe Acrobat Reader is required) and send your completed application via regular mail (see address below) with your original signature.

- Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.
- Interviews will take place in April-June. Offers will be made May-July. Placements will be made in June-August.

TERMS OF SERVICE
The Sea Mar Community Health Centers term of service starts in early September and runs through early August of the following year.
The full-time HealthCorps position requires that you complete 1,700 hours of service within 11 months.
- Your stipend is approximately $11,400 or about $405 (net) every two weeks.
- You will receive an education award of $5350 upon completion of your contract. (This amount may increase starting in the 2010-2011 program year as a result of the Serve America Act.)
The half-time HealthCorps position requires that you complete 900 hours of service within 11 months. On rare occasions, the half-time position can be completed in 6-7 months.
- Your stipend is approximately $6080.00 and your education award is $2,362.
The quarter-time HealthCorps position requires that you complete 450 hours of service within 11 months.
- This contract pays no stipend and offers an education award of $1,250.
**Note: Half-time and quarter-time contracts are not available every year. Please contact us if you are interested in this type of contract before submitting an application.

ELIGIBILITY
- Must be U.S. Citizen or Permanent Legal Resident Legal Resident at the time of application.
- Must be at least 17 years old (or 16 yrs old if on public assistance).
- All education levels considered, including but not limited to M.A., B.A., A.A., high school diploma, or GED. Candidates without a GED must acquire one by the end of the program.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
WE SEEK APPLICANTS WHO ARE:
- Proficient in the English language. Proficiency in the following languages may also be required for certain sites: Spanish, Russian, Cantonese, Mandarin and Vietnamese.
- Interested / have experience with multicultural and multilingual community and ability to function in a fast paced, high client volume work environment.
- Able to collaborate with other employees of the health centers to maintain high quality standards and achieve client satisfaction.
- Able to work well within AmeriCorps team environment; collaborate on projects and lead.
- Experienced or interested in the following: health care or social services, education/health education, community work/organizing/advocacy, commitment to issues facing Latino community and other immigrant/refugee communities.
- Flexible and self-starters, who persevere in the face of challenge, and who are enthusiastic about community work!
