Amy Jacobsen - Mental Health Therapist III
Education: Master of Arts in Counseling/Psychology
Institution: City University of Seattle
Area of Specialty: complex cases, individuals, adults, children and group therapy, high level of experience with multi-system involvement and crisis resolution.

Amy began working for Sea Mar Behavioral Health in Puyallup, Washington in 2015, since then she has also worked for Sea Mar in Tacoma and Federal Way. She joined the Gig Harbor team in June of 2018.

She initially began working in the field of mental health and social work in 1993, helping homeless and underprivileged individuals and families in Seattle-based programs, while also studying for her Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism/Communications at Seattle University.

Amy initially went into the field of communications although found value and meaning in helping those with mental health challenges and in overcoming desperate circumstances.
She has worked in most all facets of the field of mental health including outpatient services, inpatient services, crisis resolution services, child and family services and services for the military. Amy's work also includes work in Primary Care Clinics.

She obtained a Master of Arts degree in Counseling/Psychology from City University of Seattle in 2007 and has worked in Kitsap, Pierce and King Counties.

Amy's Therapy approach is client-centered and based upon the needs of individuals. Amy's work is hope-oriented, strength-based and culturally-aware. Amy enjoys helping people and families to find quality of life as well as understanding of mental illness.
