Julie joined the Sea Mar Bellingham Behavioral Health Clinic in August of 2019 as a school-based child and family therapist. she received her bachelor 's degree in psychology from the University of New York at Buffalo in 1996. After graduation she served two years teaching in Papua New Guinea with the United States Peace Corps. She then continued her schooling at Western Washington University, receiving her M.Ed. in school counseling in 2005. She has over 15 years of experience as a school counselor in various districts throughout WA state.

Julie believes in a holistic approach to counseling, which focuses on the mind, body and spirit. She strives to empower her clients to make changes in their lives to reach their goals. She utilizes cognitive behavioral therapy and mindfulness practices to help clients become more self-aware. She helps clients examine patterns that may no longer be serving them, and aspects of their lives that are working well in order to build on their strengths. Her intention is to help clients overcome the barriers that are keeping them from the life they desire.

When Julie is not at work she enjoys an active lifestyle, including yoga, trail running, biking, hiking and skiing. She became a Registered Yoga Teacher in April of 2017. She's an avid traveler and is often planning for her next trip.
