Laura Matheson joined Sea Mar's Seattle Behavioral Health Center in December 2018 as a child and family therapist.

Prior to joining Sea Mar, Laura received her Bachelor of Arts with double major in Psychology and Communications (specializing in Interpersonal Communication) with a minor in Spanish from the University of Washington Seattle. Laura than pursued a Master’s of Science degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Fuller Theological Seminary.

She completed her practicum at Pacific Clinics - Centro Familiar, where she primarily worked with kids, teens, and families in overcoming challenges presented by different mental health symptoms. In treatment, Laura enjoys using therapeutic approached that combine principals from cognitive behavioral therapy, structural family therapy, restoration therapy and play therapy to meet individual’s needs.

In Laura’s spare time, she enjoys hiking, watching documentaries, and expressing herself artistically through makeup and painting.
