Laura Pacheco Arias began working at the Sea Mar Federal Way Behavioral Health Clinic in January 2019. Her experience started in California, counseling victims of sexual abuse, providing Family Preservation services, facilitating groups and providing individual psychotherapy to adults, teens and children affected by abuse/neglect.

When Laura moved to Washington State, she worked in inpatient settings providing psychotherapy to domestic violence victims, unaccompanied minors, impacted by human trafficking, community violence, abuse and neglect.

Laura was studying Psychology and Theater Arts in her home country, Costa Rica, when she decided to continue her education in the United States. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from California State University, Long Beach. She is a member of American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT). Laura is currently a License Marriage and Family Therapist Associate (LMFTA).

Laura utilizes cognitive behavioral therapy for anxiety, depression and trauma, utilizing a strength base and cultural approach. She has extensive experience working with Latinos and immigrant challenges.

Laura enjoys connecting with nature, travelling and spending time with family.
