Maggie joined the Sea Mar team at White Center Behavioral Health in August of 2018. Prior to starting at Sea Mar she worked as a clinical intern at Harborview’s Outpatient Mental Health and Addictions Clinic providing one-on-one therapy and assisting with groups. She earned her Masters in Social Work with a concentration in Mental Health and practice with Latinx clients.
Her professional experience as a legal representative and case manager with various immigrant and refugee right organizations informs her outlook as a therapist. She seeks to create space where clients feel safe to connect with themselves, their therapist, and their communities. She strongly believes that people are their own experts.
Her therapeutic style is strengths based, collaborative and draws from cognitive behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing. She is in the process of completing her CETA certification from the Center for Sexual Assault and Traumatic Stress at Harborview. Currently she is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Work Associate (LSWAIC) in Washington State.
Maggie is often found eating New Mexican red and green chile, swimming, hiking, trying to remember to practice mindfulness and petting dogs that don’t belong to her.
