Marisa Burgos-Martinez is of Puerto Rican descent. She graduated from Cleveland State University with a Bachelor’s (2002) and later with a Master’s in Forensic Nursing (2010). She has a FNP Post Master’s Certificate from the University of Cincinnati (2018). She is also a U.S. Air Force Iraqi Freedom Veteran and military spouse (U.S. Navy Veteran). She is a mother of two.
She moved with her family from Virginia to participate in the Sea Mar Nurse Practitioner Residency program (2019 -2020) and to work with the diverse population of Seattle.
She has a passion for research in health disparities seen in minorities as well as difficult taboo topics that affect Latino as well as other ethnic communities.
