It is our hope that Sea Mar graduates will continue to work in Community Health Centers such as Sea Mar. All of our GME programs emphasize interdisciplinary medicine and patient-centered, culturally competent care, with exposure to medically and socially complex patients.
Sea Mar Marysville Family Medicine Residency:
Sea Mar's first ACGME accredited residency program welcomed its first class of six residents in the Summer of 2017 and has since expanded to ten residents in each class.
The Sea Mar Marysville Family Medicine Residency emphasizes full-spectrum care with a strong focus on Obstetrics and Internal Medicine.
Residents will provide continuity care at Sea Mar's Marysville, Everett and Lynnwood Medical Clinics.
Inpatient hospital rotations will take place at Providence Regional Medical Center Everett.
Sea Mar Seattle's Family Medicine Residency site began in 1987 in collaboration with the Providence Family Medicine (now Swedish Cherry Hill) Residency.
The Seattle clinic is a satellite site of the main program, the Swedish Family Medicine Residency at Cherry Hill.
The goal in 1987 was to demonstrate that a collaborative effort between a Community Health Center and an established residency program could provide an outstanding training experience for Family Medicine residents.
Sea Mar and Swedish have been very successful at recruiting residents who desire to work with a multicultural, Latino rich community and continue to serve underserved populations in CHC settings as they continue their careers.
The Sea Mar Seattle Family Nurse Practitioner Residency program welcomed its first two residents in October of 2015.
The mission of the program is to further enhance and develop the clinical skills, education, and confidence of new nurse practitioners to prepare them for the complexities and rigors of working within Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs). Skills to encourage retention and prevent burnout are an integral part of the one-year program.
