Abby began working on the Sea Mar Community Health Center Seattle Behavioral Health Team in August 2019. She currently provides services onsite at the Sea Mar Seattle Medical Clinic as the Integrathed Mental Health Therapist. She identifies as a queer Latina and self-identifies with she/her pronouns.

Prior to working at Sea Mar, Abby resided in Southern California until moving up to Seattle to pursue graduate school. She received her Master's in Social Work, with an emphasis in health, from the University of Washington in June 2019. During her graduate program, Abby was a fellow in the Northwest Leaders in Behavioral Health Program – a federally funded grant that aims to support clinical social workers for practice in integrated behavioral health services through integrative interprofessional seminars. She completed her practicum at Kaiser Permanente where she was able to apply the integration of behavioral health in a primary care setting.

In her work, Abby aims to provide a holistic approach to counseling that is rooted in social justice and a critical race theory framework. Depending on client's needs, Abby draws from a variety of therapeutic modalities including cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, and brief psychotherapy.

Outside of Sea Mar, Abby enjoys exploring the beauty of "nuestra madre tierra" (our Mother Earth) through backpacking, camping, and hiking. She also enjoys gardening and leans into this hobby as a daily form of self-preservation.
