Christopher Holowaty - Mental Health Therapist II

Christopher Holowaty joined Sea Mar in 2017 as an Integration Specialist, and now works as a Mental Health Counselor at Sea Mar’s White Center Behavioral Health Center. Christopher has been licensed as a Mental Health Counselor Associate since 2017.

Christopher received his Master's degree in Counseling Psychology from The Seattle School of Theology and Psychology in Seattle, WA. He also received certification for CBT for anxiety and depression from the Beck Institute, and for trauma-focused therapy from The National Institute for the Clinical Application of Behavioral Medicine.

Prior to working at Sea Mar, Christopher has worked with adults and adolescents as a counselor and pastor in religious and homeless shelter settings, along with a clinical internship at Valley Cities Behavioral Health Care.

Christopher's approach to counseling is trauma-informed, interpersonal and psychodynamic. Christopher seeks to enable clients to work within the here-and-now, utilizing mindfulness based approaches in individual and group therapy, and believes that healing is best facilitated within relationships.

Christopher is a Third Culture Kid, having grown up in both California and Argentina, and is familiar with the challenges of a multi-cultural life. He also lived in Germany and the American Midwest prior to settling in the Pacific Northwest. Christopher enjoys composing and producing original music in his home studio, hiking on local trails and parks, attending live theater and music performances, and is delighted to live and play with his partner and her son.
