Eric W. Delker
Eric W. Delker - Mental Health Therapist III

Eric Delker MA, LMHCA, MHP is a Psychotherapist III who has been partnering with Sea Mar Gig Harbor Behavioral Health Clinic, the local community and clients in order to expand mental health awareness, treat people in need, and offer a different vision for living life since 2017. After spending years in education and interning, Eric knows what drives human behavior, how to develop highly individualized treatment plans and have intimate conversations with a wide range of people. He believes it's how well one connects with the heart-beating within people and trying to help by communicating your understanding back to them.

Eric's counseling experience ranges from treating severe psychosis to treating women in trauma, which began in 2015 in Auburn at Sound Mental Health. Depression and anxiety are also central to Eric's therapeutic counseling experience.

The types of therapy he utilizes are cognitive behavioral therapy, solution focused therapy, transactional analysis, evolutionary psychotherapy, jungian and dialectical behavioral therapies. Counseling techniques the individual can expect are: cognitive rehearsal, validity testing, writing in a journal, modeling, systematic positive reinforcement, looking for previous solutions, notating incongruence, present focus, modeling coping questions, mindfulness therapy, psychoeducational clarification, psycho-historical review-analysis, and reflective listening.

Eric's educational background involves attending Grace University, Calvin College, Grand Rapids, Michigan, where he got a B.S. in Religious Philosophy; Argosy University, Seattle, Washington, where he recieved his Masters in Mental Health Psychology, he studied Buddhist Philosophy at GSL Monastery in Colerain, Ohio, and studied Western Philosophy at Princeton University. He also has a Certificate of Western Philosophy from the University of London, United Kingdom.
