Genevieve Becker is a licensed mental health counselor associate. She has been a part of the Sea Mar team since November of 2019. Prior to beginning her time in Lynnwood, she spent two years working with adults at Compass Health gaining experience in treating a broad range of diagnoses and practicing different approaches.

Genevieve obtained her masters in counseling psychology from The Seattle School of Theology and Psychology, where she was trained in an interpersonal psychodynamic approach to therapy. Her beliefs and therapeutic practice is also influenced by dialectical behavioral therapy.

Work with Genevieve focuses on exploring past struggles and how they continue to influence and affect the here and now. She believes that true, deep and lasting change happens within relationship not only with ourselves, but with others and it is the therapeutic process where these relationships begin to take life. However, these relationships are often inherently intertwined with not only our greatest joys, but also our deepest hurts. Through conversations with one another and our mutual exploration of the past and present, we will begin to discover your whole self and what it means to be able to experience a fulfilling humanity, whatever that may look like in your own story.
