Karla J. Aguilar began to practice as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate with Sea Mar in February 2017. Karla's work with individuals encompasses a variety of different therapeutic styles under Psychotherapy including; Cognitive Behavioral Therapy CBT, Mindfulness techniques, Solution Focus, Narrative Therapy, Learning coping skills and in general will focus on incorporating elective technique that individuals would most feel comfortable with, as the primary goal is to achieve a successful treatment during therapy.

Karla started practicing therapy in Yuma, a rural area, in the state of Arizona in 2009 while working for a community mental health agency with connection to a mental health hospital. Karla has worked with high risk individual as well as general mental health. Karla moves abroad and lives in Germany for three years. During her time there she provided therapy under student practice in a military base. She provides therapy to children in the school setting as well as supporting the Chaplains therapy program with the Protestant Church. She now has six year of experience.

Karla is bilingual and she speaks English and Spanish. Karla is culturally oriented and believes that it is important to consider the individual's cultural background, biological background and historical background to stablish good foundation for care while incorporating the needs that need to be addressed during therapy process. Karla would listen, validate, and provide support with different therapeutic techniques. Karla believes that the goal in therapy is what the individual sees as their own recovery. Karla enjoys time with family, traveling to different countries and trying different foods, learning about different cultures and their traditions.
