Kristen Rix began providing mental health counseling at Sea Mar’s Vancouver clinics in 2016. Before practicing at Sea Mar, she completed her undergraduate work in communications, graduating Magna Cum Laude. She later earned her Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from The Seattle School of Theology and Psychology. Kristen has worked in community mental health clinics for more than 5 years, working with youth, family and adults.

Kristen believes that everyone deserves quality mental health counseling. In an effort to provide quality counseling, she is dedicated to being a lifelong learner and has attended trainings for eye movement desensitization and reprocessing, dialectical behavioral therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, somatic interventions, as well as strategic family therapy. She was also a recipient of a National Health Service Corps scholarship for her work at Sea Mar.

When she is not providing counseling services, Kristen spends time with her husband enjoying all that the Pacific Northwest has to offer in culture and nature like attending musical performances, enjoying new foods, and roller blading in downtown Portland. In addition, she is a figure skater of 16 years and continues to skate at least three times a week.
