Sarah (she/her) joined the Sea Mar Behavioral Health team in June of 2023. Previously, she interned at the Gender Care Clinic at UNC Health in North Carolina. She has also completed internships working in the domestic violence field and in homelessness. Sarah’s path to counseling started at Elon University where she received her bachelor’s degree in human service studies with minors in psychology and public health.

Sarah chose the counseling field to become a supportive energy in people’s lives as they experience challenges and life transitions. Sarah enjoys leveraging people’s strengths and likes to keep in mind the systems that people interact with. Sarah is a social worker in training, which means she likes to address mental health and social justice issues. She is passionate about working with queer people, those experiencing homelessness, and those who have experienced trauma.

Outside of work, Sarah enjoys photography, reading, running, hiking, and spending time with her cat.
