Dr. Sidney Williams has worked for Mar Community Health Centers since 2003 and is lead dentist at the Bellingham Dental Clinic.
Originally from Atlanta, Georgia, Dr. Williams received his undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia, and his dental degree from the Medical College of Georgia. After completion of dental school he completed a one-year, hospital-based residency at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama.
Dr. Williams worked in solo and group private practice in Atlanta for 18 years prior to joining Sea Mar. In addition, he was volunteer dental director of Grant Park Family Health Center in Atlanta, and provided temporary coverage on several occasions for a remote community health center in northern New Mexico. These experiences, combined with volunteer dental missions to Peru and Nepal, eventually led to a desire to do full-time community health center work, leading to his current position at Sea Mar.
Dr. Williams enjoys being part of the team of professional providers in a busy Bellingham clinic, and enjoys his daily interaction with the clinic’s diverse patient population. He appreciates the camaraderie among the providers and their shared commitment to quality care, making it a fulfilling place to work.
Dr. Williams has the Advisory role for the Whatcom Alliance for Health Access adult dental workgroup.
In his free time, Dr. Williams enjoys outdoor activities including hiking, sea-kayaking, snow skiing, and enjoys tennis and biking. He has traveled extensively yet has many more places he would like to visit.
