Kathy began practicing at Sea Mar in 2014, and has been a faculty member at Washington State University’s Vancouver College of Nursing. Kathy comes from a family with deep roots in community health care and spent her teenage years working with her mother to provide care for the homeless population of Dallas County, Texas. She has extensive experience working with vulnerable populations and people with little or no established healthcare.

Kathy has a doctoral degree in Health Services Research, with a focus on the strengths and challenges of Medical Home implementation among children with special healthcare needs. She also served as an intern for one year in Developmental and Behavioral pediatrics.

Kathy’s primary care philosophy reflects the medical home principles of patient-centered, comprehensive, team-based, coordinated, accessible, and focused on quality and safety. “Sea Mar is continually aiming to improve the patient and family experience and quality of life for Washington residents. It is a privilege to be an integral part of our goal.”

Outside of work, Kathy enjoys restoring a 1928 home, gardening, and rooting for the Dallas Cowboys.
