Sarah Grout Bates began working at Sea Mar, Bellingham Medical, as a Certified Nurse Midwife, in November of 2018.
She provides women's health, prenatal, postpartum and newborn care.
Sarah completed her master's degree in midwifery at Frontier Nursing University, a school whose legacy reinforced her dedication to providing healthcare to underserved populations.
Sarah grew up in south-eastern Vermont and received her undergraduate degree in Biology from Bard College. While at Bard, Sarah studied abroad for a semester at language school in Guadalajara, Mexico.
Sarah completed her RN degree at Skagit Valley college, filling pre-requisites at Whatcom Community College, and completing her Bachelor of Science in nursing at the University of Washington, Bothell.
Sarah is passionate about women's health and pregnancy and provides care in both English and Spanish.
Outside work, Sarah enjoys swimming, biking, reading, tending her flower garden, fast walking with friends and spending time with her family.
